Hello and Good Publishing Day to YOU.

I’m back from the 6th annual Publishing at Sea conference … and the writing is and was hot. My new book, When God Says NO was finished, all 41,000 words of it and off to the editor by Saturday night—leaving me the evening to slip in and catch the final comedy show—fun. This book reveals the four gifts I received after the death of my 19-year-old son. Within it, you will discover some of the personal disasters I’ve landed in and survived. The poster above speaks loudly. From my heart to yours.

My personal goal is to now finish two more clients books in the next week and take on five more I’ve committed to. Webinars being planned—there has been a huge demand to do a repeat on the awesome Eye Candy PowerPoint … and it is set for early March. I know that my schedule for the year already has the first two weekends of every month booked for author events … and the year is off and running.

Flying home from the 6th annual Publishing at Sea venture, my no-brainer treat was to read Lee Child’s latest novel—my third fiction read over the last two weeks. A fan, I loved it. And I caught one of the Oscar-nominated films: specifically, Glenn Close in The Wife. A stunning performance and a film I encourage you to track down and see. For authors, it’s for us.

The date is February 2nd and starts at 9 a.m. Location is the Koelbel Library in the Metro Denver area. March will be a Mini-one-day Extravaganza with a focus on all things Book Marketing. Question: Should I get my own ISBN?

Answer: Ummm. That’s a huge YES in my book. Your ISBN is the Social Security # for your book. Unless you are publishing with a New York publisher, or an academic press, take control. Use MyIdentifyers.com as your portal to purchase. If you are a member of AuthorYOU.org, you get a 15% discount. Each book will need two to four of them: EACH edition needs its own—hardback, paper, new editions, eBook, audiobook, etc. And make sure you apply for a PCCN/LCCN before you publish. That number applies to all editions.
